These cymbals make for a good beginner set up with a cheap price tag, but don’t expect top quality sound. They’re mostly a transitional cymbal set up for the absolute beginning drummer. I would probably go for the Sabian B8 set up before this one. It’s going to cost more, of course, but would be worth it for a longer term investment. On the other hand, if money is really tight, this would probably be the way to go.

The Sabian B8 series is a very popular cymbal line up for the beginner drummer who doesn’t want to spend a lot and get his or her drum set outfitted. Most drum sets don’t come with any cymbals so there can be a lot of additional cost to get the entire drum set ready for playing. Thanks to Sabian creating the B8 line and this cymbal pack, the beginner drummer can get a fairly decent set up for cheap. The price you pay for this whole cymbal pack is around the price of a single cymbal on pricier models. This would make a great present for a drummer who is receiving a new drum set as a gift. Great Cymbal pack from Zildjian for those drummers who are on a budget. Finish is beautiful which includes a cool divited brilliant surface. Great cymbal for Harder playing including rock, punk, etc. Bell of cymbals seem a little small. You should definitely be able to pound on these cymbals and cut through the other band sound going on around you. It’s a good deal with the free crash that’s included.

Sabian HHX Evolution Ride Cymbal

Rating:
I personally use this cymbal mainly for fusion and jazz drumming. Sabian makes great cymbals and when they paired up with Dave Weckl on this series they really made a winner. The entire line has a brilliant finish and beautiful tones. The bell has a nice crisp ring to it which almost sounds like an icebell when hit giving the drummer a nice tone for those heavier grooves.
